The
National Committee function is to coordinate the implementation
of the Climate Convention, elaborate the climate change policy
strategies, researches, etc... The
National Committee has responsibility for:
- Overseeing
national policies on climate change and of the implementation
of the FCCC at a national level;
- Overseeing
all climate change related projects, programmes and research
activities in Macedonia;
- Ensuring
that national climate change policies and programmes are
consistent with national development priorities and objectives;
- Ensuring
that all relevant stakeholders in the country are kept
informed and consulted on the development of climate change
issues and policies;
- Developing
negotiating positions and strategies for the Government
of Macedonia for meetings of the COP of the UNFCCC;
- Reviewing
and finalizing the various components of the initial National
Communication prior to ministerial submission and approval.
